SHG Episode 156

Welcome to this week's edition of Subterranean Homesick Grooves™, a weekly electronica-based radio show presented originally on CHMA FM 106.9 at Mount Allison University in Atlantic Canada (but expanded to a distribution on other terrestrial radio stations), and also distributed as a global podcast through iTunes and numerous other sites. The show is normally programmed and mixed by Jonathan Clark (as DJ Bolivia), although some weeks feature guest mixes by other Canadian DJ's. The show encompasses many sub-genres within the realm of electronic dance music, but the main focus is definitely on tech-house and techno, and a small amount of progressive, trance, & minimal. This week's show has been tied in with a video production, in association with a mini-series of YouTube tutorials that I've just produced to show people how to do live performances and learn more about DJ'ing. I video recorded the production of this show, which was mixed on a pair of Pioneer CDJ-2000 pitch-controlled CD players along with a Pioneer DJM-900 Nexus mixer. I've included two links at the bottom of this post which I think you'll find to be interesting. The first video shows the perspective from my point-of-view as the DJ, so you'll hear the cue signal in the left audio channel, and the right channel features the audio from the dance floor's perspective (my booth monitor feed). That one will probably only be interesting to the DJ's. However, the second embedded video at the bottom will play this week's episode from the dance floor perspective as a full-length video, and I think that everyone will enjoy that one.
